Concept and mind maps - Felicitous & DidaBoard

What are concept maps?

Concept maps are that tool, paper or digital, used mostly as a support of the stupente in educational activities.

They are recognized by the PDP, the personalized teaching plan, since their purpose is precisely to support the study for those students diagnosed with ASD (Specific Learning Disorders).

What do concept maps include?

The concept maps, in their more or less elaborate graphic representation, include all those notions and knowledge that, highlighted in the paper, help to bring out the meanings of what will have to be learned or support the student in carrying out an exercise or task in class.

Concept or mind maps?

The main difference between concept map and mind map is the type of structure which, in the first, is static similar to an organization chart or flowchart where, usually starting from above, as many ramifications are inserted as there are concepts to be associated with the subject under study. Mind maps, on the other hand, have the characteristic of being more flexible and dynamic as they do not respect a fixed scheme.

Why use Felicitous or DidaBoard to create concept and mind maps?

With Felicitous and DidaBoard you can create dynamic concept and mental maps keeping them clean and creating logical links by associating each concept to the topic being studied: from top to bottom or vice versa, from the center to the outside, with images, videos and any other multimedia content.

You can create dynamic concept and mental maps by associating each branching with additional functions to further deepen the summarized concept.

You can also share the maps with the entire class and with all the people you want by simply uploading them to our Cloud.

You can create clean and simple concept and mental maps by connecting them to better understand every detail of the subject being studied.

Concept and mental maps allow to improve the interest in learning the subject under study since they exploit factors such as a lower expenditure of energy and time, reduce distractions.

They are particularly indicated in all cases of ASD, dyslexia, dyscalculia and difficulty in understanding the text but also in the presence of dysgraphia and dysorthography.

What subjects can be studied with concept maps?

There are no material or topics of a subject that cannot be translated into a conceptual or mental map.

The purpose of these teaching tools, the conceptual and mental maps, is in fact to summarize the most important contents of the topic under study: from mathematics to languages, from history to geography, from literary subjects to various languages, from scientific subjects to humanities.
